If it is absent or \fB-\fR, the input comes from Standard Input. .SH 2 OPTIONS .LP .RS .IP "\fB--alphaout=\fR\fIalpha-filename\fR" \fBrletopnm \fR creates a PGM (portable graymap) file containing the alpha channel values in the input image. If the input image doesn't contain an alpha channel, the \fIalpha-filename\fR file contains all zero (transparent) alpha values. If you don't specify \fB--alphaout\fR, \fBrletopnm\fR does not generate an alpha file, and if the input image has an alpha channel, \fBrletopnm\fR simply discards it. .LP If you specify \fB-\fR as the filename, \fBrletopnm\fR writes the alpha output to Standard Output and discards the image. .LP See \fBpamcomp\fR for one way to use the alpha output file. .IP "\fB--verbose\fR" This option causes \fBrletopnm \fR to operate in verbose mode. It prints messages about what it's doing, including the contents of the RLE image header, to Standard Error. .IP "\fB--headerdump\fR" This option causes \fBrletopnm\fR to operate in header dump mode. It prints the contents of the RLE image header to Standard Error, but does not produce any other output. .RE .SH 2 EXAMPLES .LP .IP \(bu While running in verbose mode, convert lenna.rle to PPM format and store the resulting image as lenna.ppm: .DS L \f(CW rletopnm --verbose lenna.rle >lenna.ppm \fR.DE .IP \(bu Dump the header information of the RLE file called file.rle: .DS L \f(CW rletopnm --headerdump file.rle \fR.DE .IP \(bu Convert RLE file dart.rle to PPM format as dart.ppm.
