We have two mailing lists specific to Google Summer of Code:

plan9-gsoc is open to anyone interested in participating in GSoC specific discussions. All student progress reports go here. This is also an ideal spot for students to get feedback on their ideas in a more focused way than 9fans (although if you want maximum exposure and technical feedback, consider posting it there, too).
plan9-gsoc-mentors This list is for mentors, prospective mentors, and the like. Some discussion happens here as the selection period goes on, as well as in the event of any issues during the summer, but mostly it's for reminders of evaluation deadlines and the like.

You can also email 9trouble@plan9.bell-labs.com for support or report bugs. But probably using 9fans is a better idea as the persons taking care of 9trouble are usually very busy.

Vita Nuova runs an Inferno Mailing List for the discussion related to the Inferno operating system and the Limbo programming language.
